OVER 25 YEARS IN THE MAKING
Over 35 years ago Bushwacker’s Saloon in Ralston opened it’s doors to the public as a bar and saloon. Before that, the building sat empty for many years. In it’s hayday, literally 100 years ago, Bushwacker’s was a granary at the hub of newly founded Ralston, NE. Ralston became a city in 1909, and the granary was built only a few years after its founding. The granary was home to not only grain, but horses, cattle and other livestock.
Today, Bushwacker’s Saloon is a family owned business that utilizes the barn-looking interior as it’s bar, dance hall, and restaurant. The main bar was hand crafted and shipped in from the country of Belgium. Bushwacker’s is a hot spot for locals, surrounding small towns, and they have people travel from Des Moines, Kansas City, and Sioux City just to party at Bushwacker’s Saloon on a regular Friday or Saturday night. It truly is the largest country bar in Nebraska and pulls in crowds from all over the Midwest!
Bushwacker’s main attraction is our impressive hydraulic mechanical bull named “Bushwacker.” This bull has made more friends than enemies in this let-loose atmosphere. He can toss even the most experienced riders who may have had a drink or two, too many! Bachelorette and birthday parties seem to love him the best because these folks are always ready for some rowdy fun. It does not matter your skill level, Bushwacker can certainly make your night one to remember. Especially if your friends catch it on video! : )
